SiteSell Services - An Award-Winning Internet Strategy
"I suddenly became a "people magnet," attracting folks wanting to associate with a winner (and probably secretly wanting to know how I did it)"
June 18, 2009 is a date I'll remember forever. It's when I won an entrepreneurial award at the 11th Annual Quebec Entrepreneurship Competition (11e Concours quebecois en entrepreneuriat) gala in Quebec City, Canada.
It was my third such award and a very special one. The first came at the local level in my hometown area, where I won in the commercial category. The second was at the regional level, where I won the "Judges' Pick" award.
Then along came the national contest awards gala at the massive Convention Center in Quebec City. It was buzzing with excitement and anticipation. On this occasion, they celebrated their one-millionth entry!
There were 700 people, including entrepreneurs, government dignitaries, local business development groups, Chambers of Commerce and major sponsors like banks, accounting offices, and government agencies.
I didn't know quite what to expect. I was somewhat blase about it all, but excited too. And win or not, I knew that the next day I'd be back to my regular routine - building the business, increasing sales and processing orders (for eye patches).
When they announced the "Internet Strategy" category and then the name of my precious Dr Patch, I felt an avalanche of joy! Of all the hundreds of finalists and thousands of entries, my project had the best Internet strategy!
I didn't realize that I was a brilliant Internet strategist!
The strategy, of course, is none other than C-T-P-M (Content-Traffic-PREsell-Monetization) driven by SBI!!!!!!
I suddenly became a "people magnet," attracting folks wanting to associate with a winner (and probably secretly wanting to know how I did it). In fact, all I did was work with my SiteSell Services Specialist, Don, to research my market, provide good information on my site, attract traffic and build an e-business. (The SiteSell Services team makes a special point about building businesses, not sites.)
Imagine! It all started in the summer of 2006, when I had developed a fashionable eye patch for my son (instead of those standard boring ones). It wasn't long before I started to see commercial potential. Eye doctors and the local children's hospital evaluated and supported me. I applied for a patent. I was busy!
In the Spring of 2008, I contacted SiteSell Services to help me develop a workable Web business strategy. I understood the power of what they do, and I knew that they practiced what they teach in courses at major universities around the world.
While SiteSell Services was creating a strong foundation for my future growth, I continued to develop my business, working with artists, printers, lawyers, and accountants to fully implement my strategy of selling exclusively over the Internet.
I've learned enough now to take over the Web part of the business myself. Unlike some firms that want to hold you as a client forever, SiteSell Services is happy to make you independent. But honestly, I'm quite content to leave all the Web stuff in the hands of a professional, just as I do for accounting and legal matters.
I started getting orders almost the day after adding PayPal to the site. The traffic is steadily increasing and so are the orders, coming mostly from the US, but also from all over Canada and even overseas.
Although there's $5000 worth of real money attached to the prize I won, I see much more to it than that. Winning the Best Internet Strategy award is a tremendous validation of what I'm doing. Now, more clearly than ever before, I can see my e-business continuing to grow and grow.
Thank you Don and everyone at SiteSell.
